The 7 Wonders of Singapore
Sunday, July 15th, 2007Yes, there’s all the talk about the new Seven Wonders of the World, and Straits Times just had to localise the issue and conduct a survey about the 7 Wonders of S’pore. Here’s mine:
- I wonder when I’ll strike Toto New Year Hongbao Draw.
- I wonder when I’ll strike 4D first prize.
- (Entrepreneur) I wonder when my business will stabilise and start being profitable / (Employee) I wonder how stable this job is.
- (Entrepreneur) I wonder how much bonus I can afford to issue / (Employee) I wonder how much bonus I’ll get this year.
- (Singles) I wonder when I’ll meet the right guy or girl / (Married) I wonder when I’ll have my first kid and what kind of parent will I be.
- (Parents) I wonder how well my children will grow / (Children) I wonder when my parents will start giving me the freedom I want.
- I wonder when figures will stop being inflated and life will actually be better for those who earn a livelihood that does not involve the government.
That’s my idea of the 7 wonders of the general population. There’ll probably be a few strayers, especially those who don’t invest in lottery and those who are married but do not plan to have children. There are also those who have a good job in a good firm, but do take note of what the average wage is and you’ll know that perhaps a large proportion of the population does not enjoy such good wages.
What an ordeal…
Wednesday, July 11th, 2007Well, something has happened over the last week that bugged me a little. I wasn’t annoyed or anything, just disappointed that such “educated” people exist.
My verdict is this: Steer clear of this “experienced” insurance adviser. Lilian Chia, 9382 7583, email lchia3@pacific.net.sg. And this is how she looks like. If you’re a customer of hers, time to re-evaluate your options. The moment you pull out your policies, see how she responds.
Those who want to read more, click here. I don’t intend to double-post. Anyway, read the whole thread, check out those external links posted in a thread on the second page. I definitely hit the jackpot to have come across this type of person.
For all I know, she’s thinking the same thing about me. Hah. Well, according to her, I should wear a skirt.
